Coach contract negotiations took place today between the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) and Pennsylvaniaโ€™s State System of Higher Education. The negotiation teams discussed the evaluation process and orientations.

The teams are slated to meet again July 17โ€“18. The current four-year contract expires June 30, 2023; it remains in effect while negotiations continue. Negotiators have not set a date by which they expect to complete contract talks. In the past, APSCUF coaches have worked more than a year with an expired contract.

โ€œWe have made progress, but weโ€™ve agreed there is much more work ahead before we reach a contract that is fair to coaches and our student-athletes,โ€ Coach Executive Leader John Gump said. โ€œAs we have done during previous negotiations, weโ€™ll continue to work under our current agreement.โ€

APSCUF represents about 5,000 faculty and coaches at the State System campuses: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester.
