Coach union members at Pennsylvania’s state-owned universities voted this week to ratify their four-year tentative agreement. Of APSCUF coach members who voted, 98 percent were in favor of the deal. The Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties does not tally results by campus.

After members voted this Monday and Tuesday, APSCUF tallied ballots today at Radisson Hotel Harrisburg near Camp Hill. With this step complete, the document goes to Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education’s Board of Governors for approval.

APSCUF will post the full contract, which expires in 2023, on its website after ratification is complete.

“I’m gratified by the support of our membership for this agreement,” John Gump, APSCUF coach executive leader, said. “It’s a contract that recognizes the important work our coaches do on our campuses and with our student-athletes. This agreement also provides a greater voice for our members in issues regarding our working conditions and job security.”

APSCUF represents more than 5,000 faculty and coaches at the State System universities: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania.
