Faculty and coach union members at Pennsylvania’s state-owned universities voted this week to ratify their respective four-year tentative agreements. Of APSCUF faculty members who voted, 96% were in favor of their deal. Of APSCUF coach members who voted, 99% were in favor of their deal. The Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties does not tally results by campus.

After members voted this Tuesday through Thursday, APSCUF tallied ballots today in its Harrisburg office. With this step complete, the tentative agreements go to Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education’s Board of Governors for approval. Details will be released to the public after the process of ratification and approval is complete.

“These contracts are the product of countless hours of hard work by faculty, coaches, and the System’s management,” APSCUF President Dr. Kenneth M. Mash said. “This work resulted in fair contracts that position our universities to continue to provide students with a high-quality education while being conscious of college costs.”

The previous faculty and coach contracts expired June 30, 2023. By law, they remain in effect until new collective bargaining agreements are ratified.

APSCUF represents about 5,000 faculty and coaches at the State System campuses: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester.
