APSCUF invites all members to join us in Harrisburg at the 2014 APSCUF Legislative Reception from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Ceolta’s Irish Pub on Tuesday, June 10. This event allows members to discuss issues with legislators in a relaxed setting that includes cocktails and food.

Your participation is critical: since Governor Corbett took office, the State System allocation has been cut by $90 million and has never been restored. This year, we face a $1.2 million budget shortfall making it more important than ever to have our voice heard. Part of this is joining legislators from across the state on June 10.

In addition to Tuesday night’s event, APSCUF will provide hotel accommodations and set up meetings with your legislators if you wish to stay overnight and visit the Capitol on Wednesday, June 11. Instead of a traditional lobby day where you are rushed to multiple meetings, you will have the opportunity to focus on the legislators that represent you.

We cannot sit silently while our students’ educations, our colleagues’ jobs, and the nature of higher education in the Commonwealth are under attack. Many more campuses could be under threat next year, including yours, if legislators do not hear from us.

We need to show every campus’s involvement and show we have a voice.

Join APSCUF President Steve Hicks and your colleagues by standing together at these important events. You can register for the June 10th Reception only or both the reception and the June 11 legislator visits by downloading this form, saving it and emailing the completed copy to Ty Marks.
